Daily showers all week slowed our fishing, but good catches were made by our hardy regulars.

Water temps ranged from 61 to 68 degrees with daily scattered showers and moderate winds. Current water temp is 66 degrees.

Whiting are plentiful with fish in the 10-14” range, blue fish 12-14” are hitting Gotcha plugs, medium croakers and puffers continue to bite.

Several nice spots were caught during the week, but not enough to qualify as a run.

Sharks and skates are plentiful with dogfish 12-24".

Preferred bottom bait is shrimp and squid.

Flounder in the 12” size are plentiful, an 18” keeper was caught Saturday, see photo, several other 17” flounder were taken.

Speckled Trout 12-14” have been biting daylight to mid-morning.

No Kings small Spanish available with clear water.

Preferred fishing times- daylight to midmorning, clear water and tide changes.

Fishing Forecast- Continued improvement in the quantity and size of fish, mackerel showing up with temps over 70.
